About The Waiting Room

The Waiting Room in Eaglescliffe is a popular, homely restaurant where delicious, honest-to-goodness food has been served up for 25 years. Fresh, naturally wholesome dishes and new menus are created with each change of season.

In the 2008 Observer Newspaper Food Awards The Waiting Room was voted amongst the top 40 of all restaurants in the UK, and the BBC picked us out as a "great restaurant" selling "wonderful food". The Waiting Room was named as The Best Restaurant in the UK by The Vegetarian Society in their last awards.

The restaurant is fully licensed with a list of excellent organic and fairly traded wines, bottled beers, fruit wines, exciting soft drinks, and superb organic Equal Exchange Coffee from Peru.
