The Waiting Room

Newsletter - Thursday 28 June 2007

This week, Sunday July 1st The Waiting Room proudly presents

not 1, not 2, but 3

Funny fellas...

Terry Saunders + Mike Wilkinson, plus Travellogger Bob Fischer

here's what The Waiting Room website has to say about them:

Come and Heckle 2 Comedians, at our 2nd night of hilarity, (different Comics from the first time) each practicing their art and resilience ahead of their show at this year's Edinburgh Fringe.

Terry Saunders: As a stand up comedian Terry Saunders has done over 200 gigs across the UK. In 2005 he was a finalist in the Laughing Horse New Act Competition and in 2004 he reached the Final of the London Comedy Festival New Act Competition. Last year he took his first one man show, "Romantic Comedy" to the Edinburgh Fringe.

"a loveable loser with witty one liners and good audience interaction …Much to cry at, much to squirm at but much to laugh at too." Three Weeks

Mike Wilkinson: Full to the brim with down to earth Northern charm, Mike takes a bemused glance at the world and then throws it a smile. The laughs come thick and fast with Wilkinson's dry humour and razor sharp wit. He's supported the likes of Peter Kay, Johnny Vegas and Ross Noble, as well as headlining clubs all over the country.

“Plus Bob Fischer is going to present a preview of his sci-fi convention travelogue complete with slide show. Bob’s spent a year immersed in Doctor Who, Star Wars and Red Dwarf fandom and has some terrifying tales to tell!”

It'll be a cracker, from 7pm, £5 cover charge.

...

In other news we have a change to our July 8th bill when Dave Longley steps in to replace Robin Ince

Which means our line up for July 8th is now

Stephen Carlin and Dave Longley

Stephen Carlin - Fantastic Voyage:

Join this new Scottish comic in his battle against the humdrum and mundane. With razor sharp routines and a fancy suit, he has only 60 minutes to save the world... or give it a temporary reprieve.

'Sharp and original.'
The List

Dave Longley: Cutting edge comedy from a newcomer making massive waves on the UK comedy circuit. His thought provoking, yet accessible material and style takes tricky issues to any audience. He also does knob gags.

Plus we'll have other stuff going on - like music and food. Also we could do with a Compere... In fact apply for the job of Compere and gain free admission. ...(if selected for the job). You can't say fairer than that. Prize value £5.

Admission £5.

And now... Our summer menu

and our new lunch menu
