The Waiting Room

Newsletter - Friday 24 August 2007

Hello again!

Here we are.

Where did the summer go? Well one thing's for sure, it will be arriving at The Waiting Room next Thursday and lasting for at least 10 days.

On Thursday (August 30th) we will have a very special, exclusive, and secret preview show featuring Latin & World music, some of the North East's top musicians, and an incredible dancer, in the back room/cabaret bar. There's no charge for admission, and our usual menu plus our tapas menu will be available. From 7pm.

On Friday (August 31st) we're re-booting our Friday Livelies. Following a few weeks off we're kickstarting the Friday Lively with some added extras. Following on from last night's Spectacular, the sangria is flowing into the weekend, together with our regular pauncho-wearing dj, tapas, cocktails and live music - to midnight.

On Sunday (September 2nd) New York's Ben Arthur and Hartlepool's J.B. Butterfield start off the new Waiting for Sunday programme in bluesy country-pop style. (double bill, admission £4)

And then...

On Sunday September the 9th we present another world exclusive:

Carmen and Dick's Seaside Special

Summer Bumpers Edition

The magnificent Carmen and Dick return with a jam packed show stopping show of hilarious musical hilarity. Exclusive to Waiting for Sunday, this one-off sand-storming show really is where summer starts and ends. Punch and Judy meets Richard and Judy.

Wear your fancy dress! - Free stick of rock for anybody who's dressed to the theme of "A glorious British summer holiday" (for example; wearing a bikini and wellies). Lots of extras, including a special summer drinks promotion on two new additions to The Waiting Room drinks list: Sam Smith's Organic Cider, and Sam Smith's Cherry Beer.

From 7, admission £4. See: British Birds

The recent BARMY weather has spurred us to fix the leaks in our conservatory roof and our summer will be Indian, as Pinky Binks displays a stunning exhibition of colourful photographs taken around India on our now-dry walls. (due to go up next week).

More details of our late summer/autumn programme to follow soon. Forward this email to your friends, and see how many times you receive it back as all of your friends forward it to all of their friends. And so on.
